HOMEBASE Charity Slo-Pitch Tournament

Save The Dates: June 28 & 29, 2019

More Information Coming Soon

The inaugural Gorges Comeau HOMEBASE Charity Slo-Pitch Tournament kicked off on the 2018 Canada Day long weekend with a Friday night (June 29) celebrity ball game at King‘s Stadium for all families to enjoy. Hosted by hometown hereos, hockey stars Josh Gorges (Buffalo) and Blake Comeau (Colorado), this fun filled weekend welcomed 24 co-ed slo-pitch teams of all levels to compete against an all-star cast of NHL players, including Shea Weber (Montreal), Ryan Johansen (Nashville), Brendan Gallagher (Montreal) & Jordin Tootoo (Chicago), plus another 10 NHL players.

Games took place throughout the day on Saturday (June 30) at the Mission Sports Fields, culminating in play-offs amongst the top teams per division. Each team played a minimum of three games. The top three fundraising teams in advance of the tournament got a guaranteed game versus one of two NHL teams.

This annual tournament supports JoeAnna’s House, a home away from home at Kelowna General Hospital for families travelling for care.  KGH is the main tertiary referral hospital for the 750,000 citizens across BC’s interior and at any given time 25% of beds are occupied by a patient from outside the Central Okanagan.  Help us build JoeAnna’s House and keep families together when they need it the most.
