“Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue—We’re Feeling Lucky, How about You?”
(L-R) Tammie Watson, VP of Marketing & Philanthropy for the YMCA of Southern Interior BC; and Allison Young, CEO of the KGH Foundation. The Heart of BC 50/50 Lottery launches publicly today. Half the pot will go to one lucky winner, while the other half will support preventative health programs in the BC Interior through the KGH Foundation and YMCA of Southern Interior BC.
KELOWNA, BC, February 14, 2025 –This Valentine’s Day, the KGH Foundation launches the first-ever Heart of BC 50/50 Lottery with a mission that’s straight from the heart – strengthening the health and wellbeing of communities right here in the southern interior of BC. With a pot already over $115,000, with the potential to grow to $600,000, one lucky winner will take home a life-changing half of the pot, while the other half will help fund proactive health initiatives in the Central Okanagan and surrounding communities.
As a sweet way to promote their partnership, Allie & Tammy have released a fun twist on an old Valentines Day favourite.
“The Heart of BC 50/50 isn’t just about winning—it’s about looking after the people we love,” says Allison Young, CEO of the KGH Foundation. “Every ticket helps fund life-changing, preventative health programs that keep our families, friends, and neighbors healthy, out of the hospital, and thriving right here at home.”
A Valentine’s tradition in the making, the Heart of BC 50/50 Lottery is an evolution of the former Lake Life Lottery, now streamlined into an all-cash format. The new format maintains the spirit of the original lottery’s commitment, ensuring all proceeds stay in the BC Interior to fund lifesaving treatments, mental health services, and preventative health programs through the KGH Foundation and YMCA of Southern Interior BC. Previous ticket buyers of Lake Life Lottery had the chance to purchase tickets early, resulting in a sizable pot already building even before the lottery launched publicly.
“The YMCA of Southern Interior BC and KGH Foundation share a deep commitment to building healthier communities,” adds Allyson Graf, President and CEO of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC. “This 50/50 is a unique way to give back, ensuring families across the Southern Interior have access to the care they need before reaching the point of crisis.”
With the final deadline on March 14, 2025, there’s never been a sweeter time to take a chance on love—and a life-changing jackpot. Your ticket will help keep innovative, community-focused solutions closer to home.
