Day of Giving

06:00 - 06:00

We’re excited to announce the return of the KGH Foundation’s Day of Giving on Thursday, May 31st.

This year we will once again be celebrating the patient care advancements made possible through giving, and raising funds for the current priority – JoeAnna’s House.

Every year, thousands of families from across the interior of British Columbia must travel from their homes in order for a loved one to receive life-saving specialist care at Kelowna General Hospital.  For many families wanting to maintain a presence at KGH for the period of their loved one’s treatment, the lack of affordable short-term accommodation in Kelowna makes it impossible or adds significantly to their hardship.

That’s why the KGH Foundation has committed to raising $8 million to build and operate JoeAnna’s House, a home-away-from-home to keep families together when they need it most.

The Bell Media radio stations of Sun FM, EZ Rock and AM 1150 will be featuring interviews with stakeholders, medical staff, and families directly impacted by this project.  We will also be recognizing supporters and highlighting the great work already being done in our community.  We hope you’ll listen to your favourite radio station on May 31st and once again consider supporting health care.

This year, if you make a gift on the Day of Giving, your support will have double the impact thanks to the generosity of the Kelowna Foundation for Hope and Social Innovation.  For every $1 donated, they will match it – dollar for dollar – to help make JoeAnna’s House possible.

Getting involved is easy; host a fundraising event, set up your own fundraising page, or drop by the Kelowna General Hospital’s Centennial Lobby on Thursday, May 31st.  You can also simply make a gift today.

In Kelowna, we can be proud of the extraordinary, world-class community we are building.  We are a community that cares, and when we work together we can accomplish big things.  Together, let’s build JoeAnna’s House.
