Day of Giving
We are so grateful for the community’s past support of the Have a Heart Radiothon and dedication to improving health care for children and newborns in our community. Over its lifetime, the Radiothon contributed over $1 million for our local hospital.
This year, we are switching things up. We are very excited to announce the KGH Foundation Day of Giving. On June 1st we will celebrate the patient care advancements made possible through giving, and raise funds for the current priority – youth & family mental health.
One in four youth in BC need mental health or substance use services and as few as 25% currently receive the care they need. Not Alone is a $2 million campaign to raise funds to create Foundry – an integrated clinic for youth and families. This collaborative centre will bring together 25 organizations and partners under one roof to care for youth aged 12 to 24, giving them the help they need, when they need it.
The Bell Media radio stations of Sun FM, EZ Rock and AM 1150 will be featuring interviews with stakeholders, doctors, and those directly impacted by this project. We will also be recognizing supporters and highlighting the great work already being done in our community. We hope you’ll listen to your favourite radio station June 1st and once again consider supporting health care with a gift from your business or organization.
Getting involved is easy; host a fundraising event, participate in the online auction, set up your own fundraising page, or drop by the Kelowna General Hospital’s Centennial Lobby on Thursday, June 1st. You can also simply make a gift today.
We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to help change the way we care for our youth and give them the confidence to pursue lifelong health and wellness.
