We Still See You
A Campaign To Support Local Healthcare
Even in the midst of COVID-19, KGH is still an acute care hospital. Disease, injury and medical emergencies do not yield for pandemics, and neither do our caregivers.
Before COVID-19, a ‘normal’ day at Kelowna General Hospital consisted of hundreds of procedures, treatments, surgeries, consultations, scans and life-saving medical interventions.
Whatever the reason for the visit, when you or a loved one faces a medical emergency, it has always been the people – doctors, nurses and staff – who made the difference. As patients, family members, colleagues, neighbours, friends and citizens of this community, this is our chance to collectively demonstrate our gratitude. To say, ‘we see you.’
But now, everything has changed. Day to day operations have radically shifted. KGH staff are being stretched to work within a stressful ‘new normal’ with unanticipated gaps left by the reallocation of resources to protect us from the virus. And this is all in addition to the regular urgent care that continues each day.
This is why we need your help.
Every donation is dedicated to funding the most urgent needs at KGH as we respond to and recover from this unprecedented challenge to our health system. Every gift supports local healthcare and our local front line healthcare staff.
Because you give, Kelowna General Hospital can…
- Remain nimble. The KGH Foundation is in daily communication with Interior Health leaders to address critical needs for COVID-19 and for every other need that arises amidst the pandemic.
- Accommodate the changes to the day to day system of care caused by COVID-19.
- Acquire lifesaving medical equipment to replace equipment tasked to stay prepared for the virus.
- Provide for care and comforts to KGH patients who cannot be with their loved ones.
We must continue to work together. Because we know that when we do, big things are possible.
