Every Moment Matters

Stroke. It is the leading cause of long-term disability and second leading cause of death. For residents in communities across the BC interior, access to advanced stroke care often means transportation to Vancouver or Calgary. But when 2,000,000 brain cells are dying per minute, this delay can have devastating consequences.

We invite you and a guest to join us for an exclusive glimpse behind the scenes of stroke care at KGH. What does the patient journey look like from the onset of a stroke to accessing medical attention? What is required to advance stroke care at KGH?

Event Postponed

In light of recent recommendations by the B.C. Ministry of Health, consultations with Interior Health and primarily, in consideration for you, we have made the decision to postpone our public ‘town hall’ gathering for Stroke this Thursday, Mar. 12.  While the risk to your health and safety remains very low, adopting a proactive and preventative approach is most aligned with our organizational mission.

We are no less committed to championing a new era in stroke care at KGH for all those that call the southern interior of B.C. home.  We are grateful for and encouraged by the remarkable response to this event from our community.  Please stay tuned as we share more information in the coming days.

Kindest regards,

Doug Rankmore
