Steve Thomson

Kelowna – Mission MLA, Steve Thomson, is one of the proudest KGH Kids you will find.

Not only was he and his seven siblings born right here at Kelowna General Hospital, but two of his own three children were born here and three of his five grandchildren! Steve is deeply proud to have had four generations of his family born at KGH.

From his humble beginnings in the nursery, who would have guessed that he would one day become a huge supporter of the opening of a new perinatal unit at KGH, on the 4th floor or the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre.

Steve currently chairs the Environment and Land Use Committee and is a member of the Treasury Board. He has served as general manager of the BC Fruit Growers Association and the BC Milk Producers Association. He has also served as a director of the Kelowna Museum, the Okanagan Innovation Fund and the BC BioEnergy Network. He has a great love of sports and had a long career in rugby including the opportunity to play for the Canadian National Rugby Team.

Steve is also an enthusiastic family man, husband, father and grandfather.  He is a strong voice for the regions children and families.

And, a very proud KGH Kid.
