Founded by the Estate of Emma Hedwig Mazzoli, who passed away March 14, 2004, with the assistance of her Executor, Mr. Paul Sourisseau. Emma was born 1917 in Hamm, Germany. She and her husband immigrated from Germany to Canada in 1952, and welcome their daughter, Barbara Jean, a year later. The family lived in White Rock, BC. Emma was particularly fond of traveling and gardening. Sadly, in 1975 their daughter Barbara died. Emma and her husband Eric chose to retire to Peachland and later Kelowna, from which they enjoyed traveling. Eric died in 1994. Emma discussed her intent to leave the bulk of her estate to benefit KGH. She recognized the importance of quality health care to the community at large and wished to assist those struggling with illness and injury.
