JoeAnna's House Information Sessions
Did you know that 1 in 4 beds at Kelowna General Hospital is occupied by a patient travelling for care?
The reasons for health-related travel vary from emergency trauma to acute mental health; neonatal to cardiac. But all too often, visits are unplanned and incresingly lengthy. Accommodation is expensive and, in popular summer months, nearly impossible to find.
Research shows that patients heal faster and more effectively when surrounded by their loved ones. And family members bond with others through a shared experience. That’s why the KGH Foundation has committed to raising $8 million to build JoeAnna’s House, a home-away-from-home that will keep families together when they need it most. And we need your help.
From January 17th – 19th, we will be visiting communities throughout the North Okanagan, Shuswap and Thompson Cariboo areas to share more information about the ‘Better Together’ campaign and the impact JoeAnna’s House will have for you & your loved ones.
Sessions are free to attend. Click on the session below to RSVP via Eventbrite.
