Dr. Pistawka has been a General cardiologist with KGH since 1994. His list of additional medical duties, responsibilities and accomplishments are lengthy. He is the Medical Director for COACH – cardiac rehabilitation program, an Associate Professor with UBC-Okanagan, the Cardiology lead for UBCO Medical Student/Resident education, the Okanagan Lead for Sports Cardiology BC and more.
Dr. Pistawka graduated from the UBC School of Medicine in 1986 and completed his residency and internships in Ottawa, New Zealand and Vancouver in 1992. He received his Cardiology Fellowship in 1994. Dr. Pistawka has served on the board of the KGH Foundation since 2011. He has also been heavily involved as a Minor Hockey Coach and Trainer as well as a Youth Soccer Coach for the Okanagan Mission.
He and his wife, Anne, have 4 children. When not taking care of his patients, Dr. Pistawka enjoys travel, golf, skiing, biking and volleyball.
