Dr. Devin Harris completed medical school at UBC in 1998 and CCFP (EM) residency also at UBC, in 2001. He was Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Paul’s from 2001 to 2003 and completed a Masters of Health Science in 2003 through the School of Population and Public Health, UBC.
Currently, he is Chief of Staff at Kelowna General Hospital. He is a Clinical Associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, UBC, is Associate Research Director, Interior Health and is a Staff Emergency Physician, Kelowna General Hospital.
Dr. Harris’ primary research interest is the provision of medical care to patients with stroke and transient ischemic attack. He is currently Medical Advisor, Stroke Services B.C., PHSA and is the Clinical Lead for the Stroke / TIA Initiative with the B.C. Patient Safety and Quality Council. He has been involved in numerous quality improvement and evaluation projects focused on TIA and stroke at provincial and national levels. He received the UBC Faculty of Medicine Innovation in CME/CPD 2013 Award for this work.
Originally from Penticton, B.C., he moved back to the Okanagan in 2014 with his wife and two children. His interests are everything that the Okanagan has to offer, and he couldn’t be happier since moving to Kelowna.
