As Regional Vice President for RBC Royal Bank in the Okanagan, Karen is responsible for overseeing 12 branches and more than 300 employees throughout the Okanagan from Oliver to Vernon.  Her areas of responsibility include:  Personal Banking; Financial Planning and Small Business.

Karen’s career with RBC began more than 25 years ago where she joined the Bank as a teller.  She has held various positions throughout British Columbia, ranging from front line customer service roles to loans officer, Branch Management as well as roles in BC’s Regional office in Vancouver.

She considers herself a life long learner and has earned her accreditation and hold designations as a Chartered Financial Planner and Personal Financial Planner.  She is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and earned her Masters of Business Administration degree from Dalhousie University.

Karen lives here in Kelowna with her family, is an avid skier and runner.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Dr. Nash has called the Okanagan home since 1971, after graduating from Medical School at the University of British Columbia. As a well respected local family physician, Dr. Nash is also the Physician’s Manager in Ambulatory Care at the Kelowna General Hospital. As an active member of his community, in addition to his position on the KGH Foundation Board, Sandy has also dedicated many hours to chairing various committees such as the Board of College Physicians, and working as the Faculty Development Lead for the UBC Family Practice Residency Program.

Dr. Nash has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Sandy enjoys spending his spare time on his 10 acre cherry orchard, in addition to participating in regular games of tennis and golf.

Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Steve Jenkins relocated and made the Okanagan his home 4 years ago. Steve is the General Manager with TELUS for the Interior region of British Columbia and is based in Kelowna. With over 20 years as a member of the TELUS team, Steve brings a strong knowledge of sales, marketing, operations and business strategy.

Currently, Steve holds Board of Director positions with the Cop’s for Kid’s Charitable Foundation, the Okanagan College Foundation as well as the 2015 Canada Winter Games Bid Committee for Kelowna. Steve played a critical role in the very successful 2008 BC Summer Games (Kelowna) as the Communications Chair.

Steve is an outdoors enthusiast, and enjoys skiing, boating, hiking, and camping in his spare time.

Sean was raised in the Okanagan Valley before moving to Vancouver to attend the University of British Columbia, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.  After completing his undergraduate studies, Sean attended Dalhousie Law School where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws.  After being called to the Bar in 1997, Sean articled in Vancouver, before eventually returning to Kelowna, where he now practices with Pihl Law Corporation.

Sean’s volunteer background has focused primarily on community and professional development.  He previously served on the Board of Directors of the School District #23 Student Assistance Association, past President of the Canadian Mental Health Association (Kelowna Branch), Treasurer of the Kelowna Junior Chamber of Commerce and as President of the Kelowna Bar Association.  Sean is currently the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Okanagan Civil Litigation Section and on the Board of Directors of the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.

Sean has appeared at the Provincial, Supreme and Appellate Court levels, in addition to his extensive arbitration and mediation experience.  He has volunteered as a guest lecturer at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) and has presented at educational seminars on a variety of legal topics.  As with the entire firm, Sean practices exclusively in the area of civil litigation, with an emphasis on complex personal injury litigation, construction/commercial litigation and employment law.

Meryle has lived in Kelowna for the past 19 years, where she has been involved in a number of community and business organizations.  She is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Kelowna Flightcraft Group of Companies, one of Kelowna’s largest employers, and was formerly Corporate Controller of Sun-Rype Products Ltd.

Over the past 30 years, Meryle has held numerous board positions in non-profit organizations, most recently with Kelowna Community Resources, Belaire Women’s Recovery Society, Kelowna 100th Birthday Organizing Committee, Society of Management Accountants of BC, Certified Management Accountants Society of Canada and the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.

Meryle and her spouse Gary have a blended family of four children that keeps them busy with the ongoing challenges of balancing work, family and recreation.  In her spare time, Meryle enjoys golfing, running, reading and travel.
