Info & Fundraising Take Care Take Part Campaign

In September 2010, the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation launched the “Take Care, Take Part” Campaign to raise $6 Million. The money raised through this initiative will support equipment in the new Centennial Tower. This new 6-storey patient care tower will consist of a new Emergency Department 4 times the current size, and an expanded Ambulatory Care Department where all day surgery procedures will be streamlined to increase efficiencies and patient comfort.

For over 100 years, the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation has been there for us, to take care of us in our time of need. Through this campaign, we can take part and give back to ensure that the medical services needed to support our growing community are available now and for generations to come.

Message from the Campaign Chair

With a strong heritage of being a transforming tertiary health care provider in the interior of British Columbia, the Kelowna General Hospital is committed to providing specialized health care to over 700,000 men, women, and children in our region.

To meet the growing demand in the Okanagan, the Kelowna General Hospital is embarking on an unprecedented capital expansion to its facility, expanding the Emergency Services to four times its current size, growing the Ambulatory Care Department to provide better patient comfort and access, and creating a partnership with the University of British Columbia for an onsite Medical Program to ensure long term quality health care.

To support this tremendous endeavour to better serve the community, the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation is embarking on a $6 Million campaign.

These funds will be used to purchase medical equipment to support the expanded services. With the capital expansion and your support, the Kelowna General Hospital will be able to provide even better patient care, and enhance the experiences for patients, family and caregivers, physicians and staff.

I chose to be part of this exciting undertaking because I believe it is all our responsibility to take care of our community today and for generations to come. Giving, as we all know, is never about the size of the gift, but rather the thoughts and emotions that accompany it. Please join me in inspiring others to take part in this Campaign, so that together, we all benefit.
