100 years ago on April 2, 1908 Kelowna General Hospital opened its doors to care for the people of our city. That fine hospital could accommodate 19 patients and it was the pride of Kelowna. The land upon which it was built had been donated by the Kelowna Land & Orchard Company, an act of generosity and vision benefiting our community at large. Today, our hospital stands as the primary care-provider between the lower mainland and Calgary.
Here we stand a century of caring later, 100 years, we now look to the next century. What will our hospital become, what will a hospital visit be like? The responsibility we share with one another has never been greater.
KGH is your hospital. We invite you to send birthday greetings to the KGH Community. Please take a moment with your family and wish the hospital a Happy Centennial – 100 years of caring. Consider investing into our shared future with a birthday gift and help us build for the well being of all.
